Jigawa Governor Says Housing Critical for Socio-Economic Development

Jigawa state governor, Umar Namadi, has said that the provision of housing units is a critical aspect and is capable of promoting socio-economic development and enhancing service delivery across all sectors.

Namadi made the assertion over the weekend when he embarked on a series of inspection visits to mass housing project sites across major cities in the state.

According to a press statement signed by Hajiya Zainab Rabo Ringim, the Senior Special Assistant for Media Affairs, made available on Sunday to the press in Kano, the move is a demonstration of his dedication to delivering on his campaign promises.

The statement disclosed that “this bold move is aimed at ensuring the quality of work and timely completion of the projects, which are a key component of his 12-point agenda.”

“The mass housing units are designed to provide a conducive living environment for state workers, enhancing their productivity and overall well-being.”

However, Hajiya Ringim explained in the statement that “by inspecting the projects firsthand, Governor Namadi is able to assess the progress made so far, identify challenges, and intervene where necessary to guarantee the successful completion of the projects.”

She stated, “During his visits, the Governor commended some contractors for their excellent work while cautioning others with subpar performance, including the Gumel town project.”

“This proactive approach demonstrates his commitment to accountability and transparency in governance,” she said.

She disclosed that, “The provision of housing units is a critical aspect of Governor Namadi’s agenda, aimed at promoting socio-economic development and enhancing service delivery across all sectors. ”

“By prioritising the welfare of state workers, he is fostering a more efficient and effective workforce, ultimately benefiting the citizens of the state,” the statement reads.
