Gwarzo Inaugurates Committee for Karsana Estate and City Projects

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo has inaugurated a steering committee for the execution of the 3, 112 Karsana Estate and City projects at Abuja, describing, affordable housing as not just a basic human right but a cornerstone for sustainable development and social cohesion.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Adamu Abdullahi, Gwarzo said the Karsana Renewed Hope Estate and Cities project is among the key projects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

According to the Statement, the Minister said the Committee was entrusted with the task of formulating comprehensive strategies that will accomplish the housing agenda and speedy completion of the 3,112 Renewed Hope Estate and Cities programme in Karsana inaugurated by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu in February this year.

“Approach your work with diligence, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to excellence,” Gwarzo urged the Committee.

The Minister further stated that the transformative power of Housing sees fostering stability, security, and a sense of belonging as well as empowering individuals and families to pursue their aspirations and contribute to their communities.

He tasked the committee members to display patriotism and ensure completion of the housing projects so that Nigerians will have access to comfortable and affordable houses.

Responding on behalf of the committee members, the chairman who doubles as the Director Public Buildings and Housing Development of the Ministry assured the Minister that they will dedicate themselves to the duties assigned to them with a view to achieving the desired goals.

The Minister of State has also assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is deeply committed to youth empowerment.

He said the Nigerian youths are the prime beneficiaries of the ministry’s housing programme across the country.

A statement by his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Adamu Abdullahi, indicated that the Minister gave the assurance during a meeting with members of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society when the national executive officers paid him a courtesy visit at the ministry.

Gwarzo explained that youth are the backbone of any meaningful development in the world adding that Nigerian youth will not be left out from the housing programme initiated by the government under the leadership of president Bola Ahmad Tinubu.

He further stated that the Renewed Hope Estate and Cities programme was aimed at ensuring that every individuals has access to a safe, affordable, and dignified home which youth are inclusive.

Earlier the National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society, Mr. Ademuyiwa Adebola Taofeek, had informed the minister that they were at the Minister’s office to tap from the existing housing programme of the Federal Government.

Mr. Taofeek stated that their Cooperative had gave positive contribution towards the success of the present administration adding that getting affordable houses for young people is their Cooperative’s priority.
