The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, has provided assurance to residents of Iworoko, Are, and Afao Ekiti, stating that the Ekiti Ring Road Phase I project has undergone restructuring to avoid the demolition of houses in the affected communities.
Olatunbosun emphasized the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji administration to the overall well-being of the people while ensuring rapid development in the state. He affirmed that the government would prioritize the economic, peaceful, and tranquil existence of the residents and would avoid actions that might jeopardize these aspects.

While underscoring the government’s commitment to maintaining international standards, Olatunbosun explained that a ring road, in line with best practices, serves to reduce traffic congestion in urban centers by providing an alternative route around the city for drivers not needing to enter the city core.
He emphasized that the government’s primary focus is on developing the state and enhancing the lives of its residents through efficient methods and technologies that ensure the safety of both the people and the environment.
Olatunbosun called for continued support and understanding from all stakeholders, urging residents to take ownership of projects in their areas with a collective sense of responsibility to safeguard their interests.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, echoed Olatunbosun’s sentiments, assuring residents that the restructuring of the Ring Road project is in their best interest and will not diminish the value accruable to their communities. Adebayo highlighted the positive impact of the road on socio-economic activities in the affected areas, fostering accelerated development.
