Africa Prudential Plc has announced the appointment of Christabel Onyejekwe as its new Chairperson, marking a significant leadership transition at the company. The announcement was made during the firm’s 12th Annual General Meeting, following the retirement of Mrs. Eniola Fadayomi, who stepped down after 12 years of distinguished service on the board.

Onyejekwe, a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience in the financial services sector, brings a wealth of expertise in governance, strategy, and risk management. She previously held the role of Executive Director for Business Development at the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS), where she played a pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s financial infrastructure.

Currently serving on multiple corporate boards, Onyejekwe is expected to bring fresh vision and leadership to Africa Prudential, a company known for its technology-driven approach to share registration and business solutions.

“It is an honour to take on this role and build on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors,” said Onyejekwe. “I look forward to working with the board and management team to accelerate the company’s strategic growth.”

Outgoing Chairperson Fadayomi expressed confidence in the new leadership, reflecting on her own tenure.

“It has been a privilege to serve this great institution and witness its transformation into a leading registrar business across Africa. I believe Mrs. Onyejekwe will provide strong leadership and fresh perspectives to guide the company forward,” she said.

The company also announced additional board changes. Samuel Nwanze and Peter Elumelu, both Non-Executive Directors, are retiring after 12 years of service. As part of its succession plan, the board has named Vincent Ukoh as a Non-Executive Director, pending regulatory approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ukoh is currently the CEO of HH Capital Limited, an investment firm with interests in financial services, energy, real estate, and hospitality.

The appointments signal a new chapter for Africa Prudential as it continues to position itself at the forefront of innovation in business solutions and share registration across the continent.
