The Federal Government has teamed up with Lagos-based real estate developer, Harmony Gardens & Estate Development Ltd, to deliver 1,000 modern homes worth ₦106 billion. The housing initiative is targeted at middle-income Nigerians living abroad.

Dubbed the Renewed Hope Estate, the project will rise in Lekki Aviation Town, just across from the proposed Lekki International Airport. It forms part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at providing quality, affordable housing through a rent-to-own mortgage model, with single-digit interest rates repayable over 20 years.

Chairman of Harmony Gardens, Mogaji Wole Arisekola, confirmed the landmark partnership in a statement on Friday. He disclosed that the development is backed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, ensuring financing strength and long-term viability.

“This isn’t just another estate,” Arisekola said. “It’s a strategic investment in diaspora housing, backed by federal support and strong financial planning.”

The estate will feature top-tier infrastructure, including green spaces, advanced drainage systems, premium finishes, and comprehensive security. It is also expected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to growth in construction, logistics, and support services.

President Tinubu is scheduled to officially break ground on the project on May 29, 2025.

Harmony Gardens currently manages seven high-end estates across Lagos, including GranVille Estate, The Parliament, Majestic Bay, Harmony Casa, and the flagship Lekki Aviation Town. These form what the developer calls the “Seven Citadel of Joy.”

With this latest move, Harmony Gardens strengthens its position as a leading force in Nigeria’s evolving real estate landscape—now expanding its impact to Nigerians living abroad.
