Ikeja Electric Office Attacked by Air Force Personnel Following Power Disconnection

Over 12 Air Force personnel from Sam Ethnan Barracks, Ikeja, Lagos, allegedly stormed the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) office Thursday morning.

IKEDC spokesperson Kingsley Okotie confirmed the invasion, stating that uniformed personnel arrived in a truck and physically assaulted multiple staff members violently.

“They came with a truck, beating staff members, taking my laptop, and now employees cannot find their phones anywhere,” he stated.

He explained the confrontation stemmed from an electricity disconnection at the barracks 10 days earlier due to an outstanding N4 billion debt.

“They destroyed all our offices, wiped IT infrastructure, blinded CCTV cameras, and vandalized multiple properties during the chaotic and forceful invasion,” Okotie alleged.

He also claimed that the Air Force personnel seized 16 company vehicles, forcing their drivers to operate them under duress.

IKEDC has yet to disclose its next steps, while the Air Force has not officially responded to these serious allegations publicly.
