A deadly tanker explosion in the early hours of Tuesday claimed two lives at Gabster Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, Ibadan.
The tragic incident occurred around 5:00 am in Oluyole Local Government Area, causing a massive fire outbreak in the vicinity.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the victims, the tanker driver and his motor boy, were trapped and burnt beyond recognition.
Fire Service and Security Response
Oyo State Fire Service operatives, with security agencies, worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent further destruction.
The Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform, Moroof Akinwande, confirmed that firefighters swiftly responded and controlled the situation.
“We received an emergency call at 5:15 am, and our team acted immediately to manage the fire outbreak,” he stated.
Authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and report any fire-related emergencies to prevent similar tragedies.
