Delta Government Takes Action Against Engineers Over Project Certification Fraud

The Delta State Government has demoted two engineers for approving certificates on incomplete road projects, ensuring accountability.

Engr. Gabriel Evuarhere was demoted from Deputy Director to Assistant Director for corruption, dishonesty, and procedural violations.

Engr. Samuel Nwokolobia faced a similar penalty, reduced from Assistant Director to Chief Engineer, effective January 1, 2024.

The disciplinary committee’s decision, detailed in official letters, outlined new promotion dates of 2028 and 2027, respectively.

He appealed for leniency, commuting the engineers’ initial dismissal sentences to demotion as a compassionate leadership gesture.
