A building housing classroom blocks at Government Girls Science and Technical College, Potiskum, Yobe State, collapsed during class hours.
The structure suddenly caved in, leaving several female students trapped under the rubble and causing panic within the school community.
Emergency responders rushed the injured students to Specialist Hospital, Potiskum, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Yobe State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Abba Idris Adam, visited the collapse site alongside Dr. Dauda Atiyaye.

Dr. Atiyaye, the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Science and Technical Education Board, also assessed the hospital’s treatment of the injured.
Preliminary reports suggest that one female student tragically lost her life after the roof collapsed onto her under the veranda.
While the exact cause of the collapse remains unclear, authorities have launched investigations to determine the reason behind the tragic incident.
The school, located about 100 kilometers from Damaturu, the state capital, remains closed as officials evaluate the building’s safety.
