U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a new trade policy that imposes reciprocal tariffs on foreign countries.
Trump emphasized that countries using the VAT system would be treated like those imposing tariffs on American goods.
He stated that any attempt to harm U.S. interests by sending goods through other countries will not be accepted.
The new policy targets foreign subsidies that aim to give economic advantages to countries at America’s expense.

Trump also highlighted the importance of addressing nonmonetary trade barriers, including restrictions on U.S. businesses operating abroad.
He clarified that there would be no tariffs if companies manufacture products within the United States.
Trump stressed that the policy addresses years of unfair trade practices that have harmed the U.S. economy globally.
He instructed his team, including the Secretary of State and U.S. Trade Representative, to implement the new trade approach.
The president aims to ensure reciprocity in U.S. trade practices and restore fairness to the global trade system.
