Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N900 per litre, describing the move as a “Holy Bonanza” aimed at easing transport costs for Nigerians as they approach the holiday season.
This marks the second time the 650,000 barrel-per-day refinery has lowered its wholesale price, following an earlier reduction from N990 per litre to N970.
The new price aligns with the cost of imported PMS, which has led to criticism of the refinery by some quarters, despite the African billionaire’s efforts to offer competitive pricing.
In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, explained that the price reduction would provide much-needed relief for Nigerians during the festive period. He noted that marketers would now be able to purchase PMS at a new price of N899.50 per litre.
“This reduction is designed to ease transport costs during the festive season and provide relief to all Nigerians,” Chiejina said. He added that, in addition to the discounted price, Dangote Refinery is introducing a special offer allowing consumers to purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought on a cash basis, with a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
Chiejina reaffirmed Dangote’s commitment to delivering high-quality petroleum products that are both environmentally friendly and engine-safe, while ensuring they remain competitively priced for Nigerians.
