Korede Adedayo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstTrust Mortgage Bank Plc, has been celebrated as Mortgage Bank CEO of the Year at the prestigious 2024 Africa Housing Awards.
This recognition, according to Festus Adebayo, the organiser, underscores his exceptional leadership, innovation, and contributions to the Nigerian mortgage sector, which have firmly positioned FirstTrust Mortgage Bank as a trailblazer in the industry.
Adedayo’s remarkable journey to this achievement is a testament to his hard work, resilience, and dedication. Since his appointment as Managing Director in 2018, he has been instrumental in reshaping the mortgage landscape in Nigeria.
Under his leadership, FirstTrust Mortgage Bank emerged from the successful merger of FBN Mortgages Limited and TrustBond Mortgage Bank Plc, a groundbreaking consolidation that created the largest mortgage bank in Nigeria. This milestone has been hailed as a turning point in the industry, enabling the bank to deliver unparalleled value to customers and stakeholders.
Adedayo’s leadership at FirstTrust has been marked by a customer-centric approach, driving growth through innovative mortgage products and a robust focus on affordable housing solutions.
His efforts have not only enhanced the bank’s market position but also contributed significantly to addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit by making homeownership more accessible to diverse income earners.
In addition to his role at FirstTrust, Adedayo is a respected member of the Nigerian financial community. He holds a degree in Accounting from Lagos State University and is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) and an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIBN). He also serves on the board of the Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN) as a National Executive member and on the board of CIBN Press.

Among these are the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs “Ambassador for Peace and Unity Award,” community development awards, and honors for his contributions to youth empowerment and local initiatives.
