President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved free train rides across Nigeria to run from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
This initiative is part of the federal government’s measures to alleviate transportation costs for Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Tinubu.
According to Idris, the move is targeted at easing the financial burden on citizens, especially vulnerable Nigerians, during the festive period. This decision underscores the administration’s commitment to providing relief and support for its citizens amidst prevailing economic challenges.
