Federal Government Launches Free CNG Bus Rides in Abuja

The federal government, on Thursday, inaugurated free Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus rides in Abuja as part of efforts to ease the economic burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidies.

The free service, which commenced immediately, will run until January 6, 2025. According to reports, the buses will operate along major routes connecting Abuja’s suburbs to key city hubs. Plans for Inter-State Operations

In addition to the current intra-city services, reports from the #PBATmediacenter reveal that the federal government intends to expand the initiative to include inter-state commuter services. This next phase aims to provide relief to a broader population affected by rising transportation costs.

The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging CNG as an alternative energy source while addressing the immediate transportation needs of Nigerians.
