President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to present the 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The announcement was made by Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, Secretary of Research and Information at the National Assembly, during a briefing with journalists on Monday. He also discussed arrangements for the session, including the list of attendees allowed into the chamber.
The forthcoming budget presentation follows Tinubu’s earlier submission of the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper to both chambers of the National Assembly three weeks ago. The MTEF outlines a proposed total expenditure of N26.1 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year.
The Senate, through its Finance Committee, conducted two weeks of interactive sessions with heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to review revenue and expenditure projections before approving the framework.
The presentation is expected to outline the administration’s priorities for the upcoming year, with a focus on addressing key economic challenges and advancing developmental objectives.
