The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured a significant agreement with Dangote Refinery to directly supply petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK). This deal comes after weeks of discussions aimed at addressing the challenges of fuel supply and affordability across the country.
IPMAN President, Abubakar Garima, announced the agreement in a briefing in Abuja, highlighting that the new partnership will ensure a more consistent and affordable distribution of petroleum products nationwide. He urged IPMAN members to support the Dangote Refinery as a key player in strengthening Nigeria’s fuel supply chain and boosting economic growth in line with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
Garima also emphasized the importance of relying on domestic refineries, including Dangote’s, for white products, stating that the deal would create job opportunities and foster local industry. The agreement is expected to help stabilize fuel supply after IPMAN previously expressed concerns over the high logistics costs of purchasing products from Dangote Refinery, which led some independent marketers to seek alternative, cheaper options.
The deal aims to address the supply disruptions and high costs that have plagued Nigeria’s petroleum sector, providing a more reliable and affordable solution for fuel distribution across the country.
