Axial Nigeria Limited Delivers Over 5,000 Student Hostel Units Across Four Nigerian Universities

A significant milestone in student housing was recently achieved as Messrs Axial Nigeria Limited, a private development firm, partnered with four Nigerian universities to deliver over 5,000 hostel units under a Build, Operate, and Transfer (BoT) scheme.

The universities involved in this initiative include the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), with additional units for the College of Nursing Science in Ekiti.

At UNILAG, Axial completed 1,147 units branded as El-Kanemi Halls I and II and provided 600 units via the BREICS online housing finance platform. In Osun State, Axial delivered 1,040 units under the OAU Centre for Distance Learning, with an additional 412 units constructed for the university.

OOU’s Ago Iwoye campus received 506 units, while 474 units were completed at FUOYE’s College of Nursing Science, alongside 600 units for the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) within six months.

Eyitope Ajayi, Managing Partner of Axial Nigeria Limited, highlighted that the initiative’s success underscores the company’s commitment to providing impactful developments in student housing. Ajayi attributed the project’s completion to the vision of his mentor and Axial’s founder, Sir Oladipupo Ajayi, the President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Chair of Axial’s student housing program.

Ajayi shared that over 50,000 students have benefitted from the housing facilities since their launch. He also emphasized Axial’s commitment to affordable, quality housing for students, particularly female students, to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

Furthering its mission, Axial plans to expand student housing initiatives nationwide with support from infrastructure financiers.
