AIHS Visits Abuja Investment Company Limited to Strengthen Housing Investment in Africa

The Management of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), led by its CEO Festus Adebayo has paid a courtesy visit to the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited (AIC), Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, in Abuja.

Ambassador Tamuno, alongside Chief Investment Officer Abiodun Akanbi and other AIC management staff, welcomed the AIHS delegation including professionals from various sectors, such as housing, real estate, and urban planning.

In the delegation were Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba, former Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, Tpl Nathaniel Atebije, President of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, and Dr. Emmanuel Akinwumi, Ceo , FINPAR Ltd.

The visit discussed ways to strengthen partnerships, particularly in promoting investment in affordable housing and energy through AIHS partners in the Federal Capital Territory. Both sides engaged in discussions aimed at fostering collaboration on housing development, investment opportunities, and creating sustainable housing solutions in Nigeria.

The meeting addressed shared interests, with Adebayo emphasizing the long-standing partnership between AIHS and AIC, which has spanned over a decade. He acknowledged AIC’s role in supporting housing initiatives and stressed the importance of continued collaboration.

The discussions also explored investment in affordable and rental housing, a key issue for many Nigerians. Dr. Akinwumi highlighted opportunities to leverage underutilized grant resources to support housing projects, while Tpl Atebije underscored the economic role of urban planning in sustainable housing development.

Ambassador Tamuno expressed her commitment to further strengthening the partnership and highlighted ongoing efforts to improve AIC’s operations under her leadership. She also mentioned AIC’s upcoming Abuja Business and Investment Summit as a step toward fostering broader economic growth.

Both AIHS and AIC agreed to continue working together to address Nigeria’s housing challenges, with a focus on creating livable communities that support economic development. The courtesy visit reinforced their shared goal of improving housing investment in Africa.
