Fire Engulfs Two-Storey Building in Ebute-Metta, Lagos

On Sunday, a fire broke out at a two-storey building located at 14 Oko Baba Street, off Ibadan Street, in the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos State, causing significant property damage.

The blaze, which started in a flat on the top floor, destroyed items worth millions of naira.

Despite the intensity of the fire, no casualties or injuries were reported. The affected areas included a two-bedroom flat, a room, and parlour self-contained unit, and a single room. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, federal firefighters, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) responded promptly to the emergency, working together to bring the fire under control.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed the incident and stated, “Upon arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the scene, we discovered that a two-storey residential building was engulfed by fire. The cause is yet to be determined, but thankfully, no casualties or injuries were recorded.”
