1. The federal government has commenced the construction of 250-unit housing estate for civil servants in Azuba community near Lafia, Nasarawa State, under the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu. Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, noted that the housing units were designed in a way that the owners could expand them in future as their income grows.
2. Three people have been reportedly rescued from a collapsed building in Rumuodara, Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers state. Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Isaac Umejuru, commissioner for physical planning and urban development, said the state government will hold the project engineer responsible for a “lack of approval for the structure”. He said the engineer placed a second structure on an old building which led to the collapse.

3. Parts of Nigeria have been thrown into darkness following a system collapse at the national power grid. The Head, Corporate of Communications at Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, Emeka Ezeh disclosed this in a notice.
4. The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development is expected to generate N151 billion into government’s coffer this year. This is as Lagos puts machineries in motion to fund its N2.267 trillion 2024 approved budget. Players in the built sector are expected to pay through their nose for government to meet its budget target.
5. The Federal Government has said there was neither a $150 billion loan deal nor a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer protection pledges in the Samoa Agreement. The government said the Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the African, Caribbean and Pacific States, was for the country’s socio-economic benefits.
6. Bandits at the have invaded Garam, a community in Niger State sharing border with Bwari area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), kidnapping a pregnant woman and four other persons. The attack came after four months of respite enjoyed by people of the community which was thrown into turmoil between December 2023 and February this year when it was attacked more than four times by bandits who kidnapped scores.
7. A two-storey building undergoing construction in Aba North Local Government Area, in the heart of the commercial nerve of Abia State has collapsed. The building located at Akubuiro, behind St John’s Anglican Church, Osusu was said to have collapsed Friday night. Newsmen who visited the scene report that there was no loss of life as the workers on site were said to have left the building a few hours before the incident.
8. Some bandits on Saturday night invaded Dahjonu community in Millennium City of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted two journalists -The Nation’s Abdulgafar Alabelewe and Blueprint newspaper’s AbdulRaheem Abdu as well as their wives and children. One of the victims’ family members, Taofeeq Olayemi, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits invaded the area around 10.30 pm and shot indiscriminately before carrying out their act.
9. Funso Doherty, a former governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos, has threatened to sue the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Doherty said the bureau failed to enforce the compliance of the Public Procurement Act 2007 with the award of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.
10. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has tackled one Ismaila Mustapha also known as Mompha for accusing the commission of being “corrupt and useless.” Mompha who is standing trial on conspiracy for money laundering and other criminal activities had accused the operatives of the commission of corruption.
