The Ogun State Government has sanctioned the allocation of 15 housing units from its affordable housing program in Itanrin, Ijebu-Ode, to residents whose homes were recently demolished at Igbegba Housing Estate.
These demolitions are part of the state government’s ongoing urban regeneration efforts. The General Manager of the Ogun State Housing Corporation, Mr. Wale Ojo, disclosed this during a visit to the site on Wednesday.
Ojo stated, “Residents were given four months’ notice prior to the demolition, and mortgages were extended to them at a discounted interest rate. Some residents have also joined the state’s affordable housing program.”
