A legal battle has erupted over Herbert Wigwe’s estate, involving his 90-year-old father and 26-year-old daughter.

Pastor Shyngle Wigwe and Christian Chukwuka Wigwe filed a lawsuit, requesting court-appointed administration of Herbert Wigwe’s estate.

Defendants include Otutochi Channel Wigwe, Herbert’s daughter, alongside Uche Wigwe and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, challenging estate management claims.

In October 2024, reports alleged family attempts to alter Herbert Wigwe’s will, raising concerns over inheritance manipulation.

The family denied accusations, but Christian Wigwe later filed a caveat questioning the will’s validity and authenticity.

Claimants’ lawyers requested private hearings, citing minor children’s involvement, invoking Section 128 of Child Rights Law.

However, Paul Usoro SAN, representing the defense, objected, resulting in public court hearings despite privacy concerns.

Justice A.O. Adeyemi ruled against interim administrator appointment, citing overlap with reliefs sought in main case.

Pastor Wigwe and others appealed, claiming the court misunderstood interim reliefs meant to preserve estate interests.

The appeal references Section 24 of Lagos State’s Administration of Estate Law, supporting interim administrator appointments.
