No fewer than 800 homes in Etomi community, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, are set to benefit from a mini-grid solar power project funded by the European Union (EU).
The State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Eka Williams, disclosed this during a site visit on Saturday to assess the project’s progress in the community.
Williams revealed that the project, a 196 kilowatt-hour (kWh) Jinko power house mini-grid solar farm with a capacity of 119 kilowatts (kW), is now fully operational.

“I am pleased to announce that the solar farm is now fully operational and ready to power the Etomi community,” said Williams.

He further emphasized that all stages of the project have been successfully completed, noting that the initiative not only enhances energy accessibility in the region but also aligns with the state’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.
