An 80-year-old Prince from Bolorunduro in Ondo East Local Government Area, Prince Adefusi Adebisi, has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court over allegations of property destruction and breach of peace.
Adebisi was accused of trespassing on land belonging to Reverend David Akinadewo-Adekahunsi and destroying economic trees valued at ₦247 million. The prosecution alleged that the offense took place on November 25, 2024, at Omilosu via Bolorunduro.
The three-count charge against him included conspiracy to commit forcible entry, malicious damage, and trespassing.
According to Police Prosecutor H.A. Olagbaju, the defendant’s actions were likely to incite a breach of the peace, a violation of Sections 516, 451, and 81 of the Criminal Code Cap. 37 Vol I. Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
Despite pleading not guilty, Adebisi was granted bail by Senior Magistrate Mike Akinbola in the sum of ₦10 million with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must provide evidence of two years of tax clearance, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and submit their National Identification Numbers (NIN).
The court adjourned the case to March 5, 2025, while directing the prosecution to file all necessary proof of evidence before the next hearing.
